1965 CHEVROLET IMPALA SEDAN – LEFT-HAND DRIVE – EXCEPTIONALLY ORIGINAL SURVIVOR – MUST BE SOLD

If you have been looking for a classic American Chevrolet that hasn't been restored, repainted, modified beyond recognition or turned into somebody else's unfinished project, this is a very special opportunity.

This 1965 Chevrolet Impala Sedan is an exceptionally original left-hand-drive car retaining its original six-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, original interior trim and, remarkably, its original paintwork.

And that is exactly what makes this car so appealing.

The paint has not been restored to make it look new. It wears the wonderful, honest patina that only comes from approximately 60 years of surviving largely as Chevrolet built it.

The dashboard is equally impressive, with none of the damage and deterioration so often found in cars of this age. The original trim remains in the car and the traditional full-width seating gives you genuine six-passenger accommodation – three across the front and three across the rear.

Mechanically, it is an absolute pleasure.
Turn the key, it starts. Select Drive and away you go.

The original six-cylinder engine runs beautifully and the automatic transmission makes it an incredibly easy classic to drive. It doesn't miss a beat.

We have recently carried out one very worthwhile safety upgrade – a FOUR-WHEEL DISC BRAKE CONVERSION.

To accommodate the upgraded braking package, the car has also been fitted with a set of 17-inch wheels. The result is a classic Impala which retains its wonderful original character while providing substantially upgraded braking hardware for today's driving.

It is currently on historic registration and is ready to be enjoyed now, subject of course to the purchaser's own registration/club eligibility requirements.

THE BEST PART – YOU DECIDE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
This is where this Impala becomes particularly interesting.
You can simply leave it exactly as it is.

Enjoy the originality, the patina, the effortless six-cylinder cruising and the fact that you own an increasingly difficult-to-find survivor that hasn't been pulled apart in someone's shed.

Or, when the time is right, build the classic V8 Impala you have always wanted.
We also have an unrestored 350 cubic-inch Chevrolet V8 available with the car, together with power-steering components and associated accessories.

The 350 provides the next owner with the basis for a very straightforward period-style V8 transformation while allowing them to build and detail the engine to their own specification before changing anything on the car.

The engine was understood to have been running when last inspected, but it is being supplied as an unrestored engine and we invite purchasers to inspect it and satisfy themselves as to its condition.
There is no need to pull apart a perfectly usable classic today.

Drive the Impala with its original six-cylinder while you build the 350 properly at your leisure. When you're ready, do the conversion and take the car to the next level.

Or don't touch it at all.

That is the beauty of this particular car.

WHY THE 1965 IMPALA?
The 1965 model represented a major redesign of Chevrolet's legendary full-size Impala and today remains one of the iconic shapes of the 1960s American-car era.
Long, low and unmistakably American, these cars have an enormous following around the world. While restored, modified and V8-converted Impalas regularly appear for sale, finding an honest sedan still wearing its original paint, original trim and original six-cylinder drivetrain is becoming considerably harder.

This isn't pretending to be a concours restoration.
It isn't pretending to be an SS.
It isn't a freshly painted car hiding 60 years of history underneath.
It is something arguably much more interesting – an honest 1965 Chevrolet Impala survivor that proudly shows its age and history.
